What exactly is a "Fish Camp"? 🐟
Well when we heard about this commercial fishing thing, I thought that we were going to be living on a big steel boat like the Deadliest Catch. Set netting is a smiiiidge different.
Since we're only fishing up to a mile offshore, we actually spend most of our time on land. Every operation on the beach is different, but our crew spends 8 weeks every summer living in plywood "cabins" just 30' from the high tide line. The cabins aren't much, but they are dry (unless it's raining) and warm (unless it's cold out). The crew shares a communal cook shack, and of course the "living room", with the best view in the state.
Depending on your perspective, it's either living like barbarians or living the good life. You can probably guess which side of that we're on. #eastsidesetnetters #fishcamp2019
