The lived experience of many who experience anxiety is that their heart races, muscles tense and the their breath quickens and shallows. These symptoms themselves can in turn feed the anxiety and a vicious cycle ensues. If you can own your breath then you can break the cycle and begin restoring calm.
There are diaphragmatic breathing techniques that can assist. It can be as simple as taking a deep breath then exhaling slowly and repeating for a minute or two.
But what if your diaphragm is tensed up? Most of us do not realise we are not breathing optimally due to muscle imbalances in the chest, back and abdomen. Imagine what would happen if you could release some of those tense muscles to aid restoring your breathing to normal. Wouldn’t that be worth learning?
Attending an #EMM -Tech short course can teach you how to do that for yourselves and others.
