So. Saturday came and went. 👋
It came with stress levels through the roof - because all of a sudden, engagement levels dropped on our content.
Sirens were heard in my (Jess') head. 🔊
We made an executive decision to kill the post - analyse the reasoning as to why it was attracting little engagement compared to previous weeks and decided it was a colour, copy and hashtag issue. (the whole bloody shebang really)
Then I (Jess) had a meltdown. 😭
Shit. It is not working, we aren't providing the best content we can. We aren't utilising the best hashtags and our copy sucks ass.
Breathe you freak. Breathe. 🤪
We then reposted.
The realisation is - YES.
Our engagement level has dropped since we went live.
YES. We analyse, adjust, trial and panic frequently.
But, we also are in an incredibly competitive industry, supporting fellow small biz around us.
REALITY CHECK = not everyone is going to love you, or your content or follow your hashtags. 😕
Along with the above components which go into an Insta post on a daily basis - there are also many other factors as to why engagement levels can potentially drop.
Guess what folks.
If you haven't noticed - this whole Social Media process is to CHECK and ADJUST. ✖️✔️
It keeps us challenging each other, the platform itself and gives us the extra oomph to meet and greet followers near and far.
Come on, don't leave us solo here. 🙋🙋
Tell us about a time you've had an 'OMG - where the frig is my followers at' type scenario?
